Wikimedia Community Malta was accepted as a participating member of the Wikimedia Central and Easter Europe partnership on Friday 29 March 2019 during a thematic group meetup at the Wikimedia Deutshland office in Berlin, which was the 2019 Wikimedia Summit.
Following a proposal for participation by WCM founding member Toni Sant, CEE members expressed no reservations towards this and it was agreed that Malta's participation would be discussed on the Meta Wiki towards formal acceptance in 2020.
